Mesut Ozil has agreed a new deal at Arsenal, according to reports.
The Germany international has been in talks with the club over a new deal since May and it appears both parties have now reached an agreement.
According to German publication Sport Bild via the Daily Star, both parties have reached an agreement on a new deal.
The midfielder will also been handed the no 10 shirt that was left vacant when Wilshere left the club on loan.
Sport Bild journalist Henning Feindt made these claims via his twitter account.
“Mesut Ozil gets a new mega contract at Arsenal!” he tweeted.
“Among other things, it states he will wear the number 10 [shirt] instead of 11.
Although the details of the new contract is yet to be revealed, it is believed the German will become the highest paid player at the club.
Ozil joined the club from Real Madrid in 2013 for about £42.5m and has become a key player for the club in recent years. Wenger will be happy to have finally tied down the star player to a new contract as it was his priority in the summer.
The club will be hoping Alexis Sanchez will follow suit and also sign a new deal at the club.
