Arsene Wenger has been told he must accept the blame for the club’s signing in recent years, according to Sport review.
Former England striker Ian Wright after the defeat to Watford on Sunday slammed the lack of leaders in the Gunners squad and says Arsene Wenger must be held responsible for his transfers that have failed to produce leadership in the team
The Gunners lost 2-1 to Watford at the Emirates on Sunday, effectively ending the team’s hope of winning the FA cup for the 3rd time in a row and speaking after the game Wright accused Wenger for creating a team without leaders.
“What you do have to lay at his door is the fact that all the players there are players that he has brought in,” Wright said.
“The players and their personality – that’s what he has created. It doesn’t seem to me like a dressing room where you’ll see veins popping out of necks and passion.
“I don’t see that in any of the signings that he has bought.”
The team’s failure to effectively compete for the titles may not really be attributed to lack of quality and the likes of Wright who has claimed the team lack leaders might just be right as Alexis Sanchez last month claimed the players lacked the desire and Mentality to win title. And it’s a popular saying that it takes leaders to create a winning mentality.
We would be hoping the team push stronger to win the title in the remainder of this campaign and hopefully come back stronger next season.
