Bookmakers Slash Odds On Jack Wilshere Leaving Arsenal

One of the major signs that a player is on the move is made by bookmakers when they slash the odds on a transfer dealing happening. That has just happened with Jack Wilshere so the signs are that he will be on his way out of the club during the summer transfer window. The midfielder is now priced at 1/4 with the top bookies with West Ham the favorites to sign him priced at 5/4. To find the latest odds and promotions visit

There is no doubting Wilshere’s love for Arsenal as he is a true Gunner and puts it all on the line when he puts the shirt on. The problem is that in recent seasons he has not had the chance to play due to many injuries. The player is known for diving in at challenges and while it is fantastic when it comes off, it is a disaster when it does not. A lot of the blame for Wilshere not improving as a player has to fall on Wenger’s shoulders as it is him who should have cut that out of his game and teach him to stay on his feet when making a tackle. Maybe then the midfielder would not have had so many injuries that have ruined his development.

Many fans thought that Wilshere would stay at the club for another season due to a new manager in charge. Wilshere is determined to play first-team football next campaign and it looks like Unai Emery is not willing to offer that. Without the full backing of the new manager, it is believed that Wilshere is looking into other options with West Ham top of the pack.

If Wilshere does not decide to join West Ham the bookmakers have Everton as the second favorites at 7/1. It is believed that the player wants to stay in London so it is going to be difficult for clubs not located here to tempt the player to join. Wolves are priced at 8/1 and Newcastle at 33/1.

It is possible that the player may move abroad with the likes of PSG, AC Milan, and Roma all supposedly interested in the midfielder. The favorites are PSG priced at 20/1 followed by the two Italian clubs at 25/1 to land his signature. Due to the fact that the player’s contract expires this summer, it means that the clubs will be able to pick up a bargain and Arsenal will once again lose money on a player that they brought through the ranks as a teenager.

New manager Unai Emery has a massive job on his hands during the summer months if he is going to be a success at the Gunners. The new player recruitment will have to be nearly perfect if they are going to catch up to the top five teams that finished above them last season. It is going to be a difficult task without being able to offer Champions League football.

Wilshere’s next move is critical to get right if he is going to get back to the form that he showed so early on in his career. The player was deeply hurt when he was left out of England World Cup squad and hopes that playing every week will get him back playing for his country.
