Arsenal have joined Manchester City in the race to sign German sensation Leroy Sane, according to reports.
The youngster has attracted a lot of interest with his individual brilliance for Schalke 04 last season, also earning a spot in Germany’s Euro 2016 squad as a result.
The midfielder who is frequently talked about as the next big thing of German football is currently attracting interest from Premier League giants Manchester City.
And now according to Football Insider, Arsenal have joined City in the race to sign the winger. The German side have slapped a £42million price tag on the player to discourage all interested parties but it is believed the player is still keeping his options open.
New Schalke manager Christian Heidel has now urged the player to make a decision on his future after the Euro 2016 tournament.
“Leroy Sane must make after the European Championship a decision regarding his future. For Schalke 04 takes a certain predictability, “Heidel told Sport Bild.
“We have always made it clear that we would be pleased if Leroy Sane remains at Schalke.”
Wenger is reportedly keen on signing a winger to play alongside Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez and it remains to be seen if the French man will be able to beat Manchester City to the Sane’s signature.
