Arsene Wenger is still interested in signing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to reports.
The French striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates in the last three summers but Wenger has been unsuccessful in his attempts to sign the striker. With the French manager now seriously in search of a striker, he is reportedly keeping tabs on Benzema again.
According to El Confidential via the Daily Star, Wenger would be able to sign Benzema this summer should Madrid sign a striker. The Spanish side have been linked with a move for Aubameyang and Lewandowski and should they be successful in signing any of the players, Wenger is expected to move for Benzema.
Benzema has been an integral part of Madrid squad in the last couple of seasons but the Spanish side would be open to the idea of selling him should they sign a striker, preferably Lewandowski.
Benzema is a world class striker which would definitely improve our team, he has scored 111 league goals in 215 appearances for Madrid since moving to the Spanish capital in 2009. However, the French striker is not without his negatives as he has been embroiled in several off field incidents in recent years which cost him his place in the France national team.
Wenger wants to strengthen his strikeforce this summer and is also keeping tab’s on Alexandre Lacazette.
