Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
The Gunners man has impressed since his move to Arsenal in 2014 and is reportedly attracting a lot of interest from clubs outside England.
According to Spanish Publication Don Balon via Football Insider, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is keen on Sanchez as he plans to reshuffle his squad this summer. The report claims Zidane is a big fan of Sanchez and is hoping to sign the Chilean international as he plans to move Ronaldo to a more central position.
However, it is understood Arsene Wenger is not prepared to sell the winger who still has two years left in his contract. The club has already rejected an offer of £34m from Italian Champions Juventus. The Italian club was told outrightly that Sanchez is off the market and it is unlikely Wenger would now decide to sell his star man to Real Madrid.
Arsenal are preparing to offer the new no. 7 a new deal and negotiations between the club and the player’s camp are expected to commence when the player returns from preseason.
Sanchez has scored 29 league goals in 65 appearances since becoming a Gunner and will be crucial to the club’s title chances next season, hence we expect the winger to remain a Gunner at the end of the transfer window.
