Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is interested in signing Arsenal fullback Hector Bellerin.
Guardiola is planning to revamp his squad at the Etihad and has set his sights on the Gunner’s fullback.
Bellerin has grown to become one of the best fullbacks in Europe after breaking into the first team in 2014 and he is now attracting interest from a lot of teams.
According to the Times via the Daily Star, Guardiola wants Bellerin to be his first choice right back at the Etihad next season.
The report claims Bellerin features so highly on City’s wishlist because of his homegrown Status as he spent three years in England prior to his 21st birthday. The Etihad side only have three homegrown players in their first team and are keen to increase them.
City’s Pablo Zabaleta is set for a move away from the Etihad this summer and Bellerin is being eyed as a potential replacement.
Arsenal are determined to keep the defender at the Emirates and will reject City’s advances. Wenger is strongly against selling players to rival clubs and that would be another reason City will struggle to sign Bellerin.
Guardiola has also been linked with a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
