Liverpool remain keen on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain despite Wenger’s insistence that the midfielder isn’t for sale.

The Reds have made several approaches for the winger since January but Arsenal have been adamant that he won’t be allowed to leave. That hasn’t dettered Jurgen Klopp who is keen to get his man.

According to The Express, Klopp is set to make a £40m move for Chamberlain in a bid to stop from signing a new deal at the Emirates.

The Ox contract expires at the end of next season and Arsenal have opened talks to renew his contract. Klopp is now hoping to convince him to snub the new deal worth around £100,000 weekly and move to Anfield.

The Reds are hoping to use their participation in next season’s Champions League to lure the midfielder away from Arsenal and also promise to hand him a central midfield role, which he has always clamored for.

The England international has played in several position for Arsenal since joining from Southampton in 2011, most recently operating as a wing back but he now wants stability in his favored centre midfield position.

Obviously he won’t get that at the Emirates just yet but I don’t think that should be enough reason for him to choose Liverpool over Arsenal.
