Arsenal’s successful bid for Yannick Carrasco this summer is dependent on Manchester United pursuit of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Sports Review.
Wenger has already made an attempt to sign the Belgian international and have lodged a bid worth £19m for his services.
However, it has been quiet on this front in recent weeks but The Sport Review now claims a deal to bring Carrasco to the Emirates could be back on the cards should Manchester United be successful in their pursuit of Mkhitaryan.
Giulianelli said: “If Mkhitaryan joins Manchester United it [Carrasco to Arsenal] could come back as a likely move.”
The report failed to establish the relationship between the Carrasco to Arsenal move and Mkhitaryan to Manchester United but it is believed the Old Trafford club are also keeping tabs on Carrasco.
Wenger is keen on improving his squad this summer and is being linked with a number of top quality players. The French tactician recently completed the signing of Granit Xhaka but he isn’t prepared to rest on his laurels as he attempts to take what could be his last shot at the Premier League title.
Carrasco showed his quality against Real Madrid in last month’s Champions league final and he could be a decent addition to our squad ahead of next season.
