Arsenal now have a new striking target as Wenger attempts to improve his forward line.
Wenger has been in search of a center forward but he is yet to be successful. The club had hoped to secure the signing of Jamie Vardy from Leicester City but the England striker appears to have snubbed a move to the Emirates.
According to Corrierre dello Sport via the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger could make a move for former Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic this summer.
The striker struggled with injuries in his first spell in the Premier League and made just 28 league appearances for City between 2013 and 2015 before he was sent to Inter Milan on loan.
The Italian giants have the option to sign the striker permanently this summer but it is understood that Roberto Mancini is unwilling to do so which could give Arsenal the opportunity to sign the player.
Sparktar Moscow are also monitoring the situation of the 26 year old and could rival the Gunners for his signature.
Jovetic has failed to live up to his early promises scoring only 6 goals in 26 appearances for Inter and is definitely not the type of world class striker needed at the Emirates.
It remains to be seen if the lack of top striker in the transfer market would force Wenger to make a move for Jovetic but Wenger knows he has to do better to get the gooners excited.
