Arsenal target Jamie Vardy will make a decision about his future after the Euro 2016 championship, according to a report on the independent.
Arsenal activated the striker’s £20m release clause last Friday and offered the player a four year contract with salary package of £120,000 a week.
In an attempt to keep the striker, Leicester City offered the player a new deal to counter that of Arsenal and it is believed the England international wants to take time to mull over both options.
The striker was expected to make a decision about his future before jetting out with the national team to France but he is now set to delay talks about his future till after the Euro 2016. The striker has also assured Roy Hodgson that he is fully focused on the national team.
Arsenal are prepared to wait for Vardy until after the Euro Championship but would still pursue alternative targets during the competition.
Leicester City are working hard to keep the forward with the Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri said to have called the player personally to ask him to stay at the King Power stadium while influential players in the Foxes team are also trying to persuade the striker to stay.
However, Vardy knows this could be his only chance to play for a top side like Arsenal and he is keen not to make his decision in a haste.
The striker scored 24 goals for Leicester City in the last season and was duly rewarded with a place in the England team traveling to France this summer.
