Arsene Wenger could sign a new deal at Arsenal, as suggested by a report in the Daily Cannon.

The manager’s future is up in the air, his current deal expires at the end of the season and he is yet to decide whether to extend his stay or not.

He has come under criticism from some section of Arsenal fans for his failure to guide the team to a major league title in the last twelve years. There was fight among fans at the Alianz Arena in our last Champions League game against Bayern Munich due to differing opinions of fans about his future.

Wenger is expected to put fans unrest into consideration when making his decision in April and there have been talks in some papers that he could step down but recent indication suggests he could stay beyond the current campaign.

According to The Times, Wenger has not given any indication that he would leave at the end of the season.

Instead, he is already making plans for the summer and have set things in place for pre-season. The boss is being involved in making hotel arrangements for Arsenal’s pre-season tour and discussing travel plans as well as devising training methods.

The report also claim there is no change in Wenger’s attitude to work and his commitment is same like previous years.

This is a big indication that he is planning to stay beyond the current campaign.

If a new manager was come in, it is normal that he would want to make his own pre season plans but Wenger being involved in all these means that we aren’t planning for a managerial change.

This may be surprising to many of us but not for me, Wenger’s decision to delay an announcement on his future made it likely for him to stay.

It would have been very difficult for him to step down with little time left for us to find a replacement. He’s a part and parcel of the club and would ideally want us to have enough time to prepare for his departure if he wanted to leave.
