Arsenal on brink of agreeing Gedion Zelalem loan extension with Rangers, confirms Mark Warburton. Rangers boss Mark Warburton has confirmed that the Scottish giants are on the cusp of extending Gedion Zelalem’s loan deal at Ibrox.
The Arsenal midfielder was sent north of the border this summer with Arsene Wenger determined for the youngster to be given first team football. The 18 years old was born in Germany but represents USA U23 and has been a revelation for the Gers this term, making 5 assist so far.
The Midfielder good form is being rewarded as Rangers Coach; Mark Warburton spoke confidently about keeping the youngster for the remainder of the season following successful talks with Arsenal’s representative Liam Brady.
Matt Pilkington, Youth Coach at his former side Olney Ranger in America said that the youngster is a midfield player that dribbles like Andreas Iniesta and passes like Xavi. The player has played at Herta Berlin in Germany, MSC United and Bethesda Soccer Club, before joining Olney Rangers.
Zelalem is excellent on the ball, with a mesmeric weight of pass and close control allowing him to dribble pass players with ease and can unlock an entire team with one brush stroke of his foot. The Gunners may have gotten for themselves another Cesc Fabregas in the making.
