It is looking like Arsenal will keep Alexis Sanchez this summer, whether the Chilean agrees to extend his contract or not remains to be seen.
Sanchez is being linked with a move away from the Emirates but Arsenal have no intention of losing a player who was crucial to its last season’s FA Cup triumph.
In short if not for Sanchez, the Gunners may have even finished lower than 5th position. His sublime performances didn’t go unnoticed and club’s are looking to take advantage of his contractual situation.
Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been linked with the striker this summer but they have been told there’s no chance of a deal happening.
Chelsea and City have been ruled out because Arsenal don’t want to sell to a rival while Bayern have ended their interest after signing James Rodriguez.
However, PSG are still in the race but the Daily Cannon is now reporting that the French giants are struggling to convince Sanchez to move to Paris.
The report claims Sanchez will prefer to Join Guardiola at City and PSG will continue to keep tabs on him, as they know Arsenal won’t want to sell to a rival.
Arsenal’s position in all of this is that the player won’t be sold and will keep him even if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
Wenger will prefer to lose the Chilean for nothing next summer if it means him helping us to get back to the Champions League. According to The Metro, Wenger is also confident that Sanchez will not go on strike or become uncommitted to the club’s cause if his transfer is blocked.
Arsenal’s decision to stand firm on Sanchez is wonderful because losing the Chilean will be a disaster. It is going to be difficult for us to sign a replacement and even at that, losing him and bringing someone else in is like taking two steps backward and then taking one step forward.
