Arsenal are reportedly closely monitoring Russian sensation Aleksandr Golovin ahead of a move this summer.
The CSKA Moscow midfielder has been monitored by Arsenal scouts recently at the Confederations Cup according to his club’s general director Roman Babaev.
“I admit that the London club scouts viewed Aleksandr’s Confederations cup. He was one of the best parts of our team.
We are unconcerned about this information, a.nd Aleksandr as well” he told Sport Express.
Golovin broke into the first team at CSKA Moscow in 2015 and has become an integral player for both club and country, attracting interests from clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly making an approach for him earlier this summer.
He is being heavily linked with a £10m move to Arsenal this summer though, with suggestions that Arsenal have made a bid for him. But the club director has refuted such claims
“No, CSKA did not receive an offer from Arsenal for Golovin” he said.
Football agent Sandor Varga, who represented ex-gunner Oleg Luzhny has told Sports Daily Russia that Arsene Wenger asked him to watch the 21-year-old midfielder at the confederations cup.
“Arsene Wenger called me and asked me to watch Golovin again;
He was going to come but his scout in Russia sent him six to eight positive reports and so he asked me to watch him instead”
With Wenger shaking up his squad a bit this summer, Golovin might just be one of the latest midfield additions.
