According to ESPN, Arsenal are considering a move for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Brozovic is a familiar name to Gooners, having been linked with a move to Arsenal in each of the last four transfer windows.

Reports have claimed Wenger is looking to strengthen the midfield this summer and we have been linked with a host of names already. It is surprising that up until now, Brozovic’s name didn’t come up and one would have thought that the new deal he signed at Inter last season was the reason.

However, ESPN says Arsenal are still interested in the midfielder.

Wenger is a big fan of the midfielder and we are made to believe that he assigned scouts to watch him on several occasions last term. He is now set to step up his interest in the 24 year old as he turns his attention to strengthening the midfield especially with Santi Cazorla out injured.

It is claimed that Inter are open to offers for Brozovic, the same thing that was said last summer only to find out that the midfielder was after a better contract at the San Siro.

This time around, ESPN cites Inter’s need to comply with the Financial Fair Play rule as the reason they will agree to sell Brozovic.

The midfielder isn’t a regular at the San Siro club and they may happily ship him out if we come up with a good offer.

But should we really be going for a player like Brozovic? To win the league title, it is imperative you improve your first team and not the bench and obviously, Brozovic wouldn’t get into our starting xi anytime soon. So why don’t we look at other targets?
