Paris Saint Germain are desperate to crush Arsenal hopes of signing Alvaro Morata this summer, according to reports.

The Spanish striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates with Wenger said to be willing to make the forward the highest paid player in the team should he complete a move to the Emirates.

Should recent reports be true, Wenger would need to step up his efforts to sign the forward as PSG are now very keen on landing the striker.

According to Talksport, PSG have held discussions with Morata camp twice in the last 10 days.

Real Madrid are expected to resign the striker this summer and sell him immediately for a higher fee and PSG who are set to lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic are keen to sign Morata to provide competition for Edison Cavani.

Madrid have reportedly told interested clubs that it will take at least £40m to sign Morata and PSG are willing to pay the transfer fee and are already discussing with the player’s agent to thrash out a deal.

Arsenal were thought to be favourites in the race to sign Morata but it appears the French champions have moved ahead of the Gunners.

Manchester City and Manchester United are also interested in the Spanish forward and it could end up in a bidding war between the four clubs which would definitely favour Real Madrid more.
