According to a report via Blid, Arsenal could suffer a massive transfer blow in signing Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig this summer.
Forsberg has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, Liverpool, AC Milan and Bayern Munich.
In quotes reported by Bild, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff said neither player would be given a transfer this summer.
“It would be negligent to give away one of our key players now,” Mintzlaff said. “Emil and Naby are both extremely talented players with a lot of potentials.
“We are delighted that we as a club can keep up with their development and that we can prove ourselves in Champions League in the upcoming season.”
However, while on international duty with Sweden last week, Forsberg said: “AC Milan are a fantastic club. They are an interesting project, making investments and wanting to take back the throne again.” He added: “I had a fantastic time in Leipzig, and my agent will take care of everything else.”
The Sweden international enjoyed a highly productive season in 2016/17 to top the Bundesliga assist charts with 19 in total, as well as eight goals from out wide.
This has seen the Gunners linked with a £30million move for Forsberg, but Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick recently insisted that their star players were not for sale.
