After an ever-present role in the run up to last season’s triumph in the FA Cup, Arsenal have parted company with Scottish International forward, Christie Murray.
The 24-year old joined the Arsenal Ladies on a short term deal last year and with that contract now expired, the club has bid her goodbye with cheer and good wishes.
According to a statement on the Arsenal website:
“Murray helped Arsenal Ladies to FA Cup victory last year, featuring in all three matches on route the final”
“She also helped Pedro Martinez Losa’s team to the final of the FA WSL Continental Cup last term”
At what seems a young age to leave a club, Christie has as much experience at International level, having turned out at all age levels for the Scottish Women’s Football set up. She may have been not more than a squad member last season, yet some of her attacking handiness could be missed.
It means Christie will not be involved in the recently released schedule of preparatory friendly games with which the Ladies’ team will continue tune up activities for the coming League season.
Information on the club website reveal that five fixtures will be played across February and March which will include games against Aston Villa and Doncaster Rovers,
