Arsenal could raise £45m from the sale of three squad players in the next few days, claims respected journalist Jim White.
Arsenal have spent £52m on new signings this summer but that isn’t expected to be the end of incomings as Wenger is eyeing a big money move for Thomas Lemar.
As much as strengthening the club is a priority, shipping out forgotten players is also important and Arsenal are set to make £45m from the sale of Wojciech Szczesny, Calum Chambers and Kieran Gibbs.
Szczesny is closing in on a £10.5m move to Juventus, meaning Arsenal could raise a further £35m from selling Gibbs and Chamberlain.
While that may sound impossible, we have to remember that reports earlier in the summer claimed Arsenal had placed a £15m price tag on Gibbs, although Watford were reluctant to pay that much.
Should any club now decide to meet Arsenal’s demands for Gibbs, it wouldn’t be a problem finding someone who will pay £20m for Chambers after his impressive loan spell at Middlesbrough last season.
More players are also expected to be sold, which means Arsenal would definitely rake in more than £50m from players sale before the transfer window closes.
Wenger is expected to spend big this summer as we attempt to successfully challenge for the league title next season and certainly he will be a very happy man if we are first successful in the transfer window.
