Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are planning a bid for Stade de Reims’s right-back Aissa Mandi in the January transfer window, according to reports. The 24 year old has scored 10 times in 138 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit; an impressive record for a defender, but he is being linked with a move away from Reims; a club he has been playing for since 2009.
Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the right back and has reportedly sent scout to watch the player on numerous occasions as they plan to test Reims resolve in keeping hold of the defender. Arsenal are looking to beef up their defensive options, especially at the left and right back of the defence, with French man Debuchy reportedly looking to leave the Emirates in search of playing time in January to boost his chances of representing his country in the European Championship being hosted by France.
Mandi has been likened to former Gunners defender; Bacary Sagna in their playing style. He would be a valuable addition to the Gunners squad and should provide not just a good back up to first choice right back; Hector Bellarin but also give the Spaniard enough to worry about as regarding holding on to the spot.
