Arsenal are yet to receive an official bid for Alexis Sanchez amid reports linking the Chilean with a move away from the Emirates.
Sanchez’s contract expires at the end of next season and he is yet to commit his long-term future to Arsenal.
Arsenal have made several attempts to secure the striker’s long-term future, but for unknown reasons he has refused to sign.
Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are both interested in signing the striker but Arsenal do not want to sell. Wenger has been vocal about the club’s reluctance to sell the Chilean but according to Sky Sports reporter Bryan Swanson, that hasn’t deterred PSG.
According to the journalist, the French giants are keen on a £50m deal for Sanchez, although they are yet to make an official offer.
“We’re told that PSG remain interested in Alexis Sanchez. He told us a few weeks ago in Russia that he didn’t know whether he’d stay at the club next season,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Cannon.
“Arsenal’s position hasn’t changed – they say that he’s not for sale.
“The big question remains whether a club will test Arsenal’s resolve with a big-money offer. The latest is that has yet to happen.”
Arsenal apparently wants to keep the Chilean at all cost even if it means him leaving for nothing next summer.
However, because of the financial impact of losing a player like Sanchez for free, Wenger may consider an offer from a club abroad but that wouldn’t happen until Arsenal are certain the forward doesn’t want to sign a new deal.
