Brian McDermott is on the verge of completing a sensational return to Reading, according to Tribal football.
The 54 year old is set to return to the Madjeski stadium after the Championship side sacked Steve Clarke last week.
On Monday, the Mirror reported that the championship club were set to offer their former manager the chance to return to the club and reports from BBC Radio Berkshire confirmed the 54 year old manager has agreed to return to reading.
The 54 year old joined Reading as chief scout in 2000, he then became the reserve team manager and in December 2009, he became the first team caretaker coach after Brendan Rodgers left the club.
He subsequently became the full time manager and was then relieved of his duties in March 2013 before he moved to Leeds United.
After his time at Leeds United, the 54 year old joined Arsenal as Chief scout. The English man will now return to management at Reading.
Reading currently sit eleventh on the Championship table, the Royals have lost four of their last 10 games, winning three and drawing three.
The Royal’s will be hoping McDermott lead them back to the Premier league again.
