Olympic Lyon are working hard to keep Alexandre Lacazette out of Arsenal’s reach, according to reports.
The French club are reluctant to sell the striker and have already rejected a £29.5m bid from Arsenal but Wenger is prepared to offer a new bid worth £35m.
According to Getfrenchfootballnews.com, Lyon are preparing to offer the striker a club record deal to stay at the club.
The French club are unwilling to change their stand on the striker’s future and are trying to convince him to reject a move to Arsenal.
This would be bad news for Arsenal fans who are hoping the club sign a striker this summer. Jamie Vardy has already snubbed a move to Arsenal in favor of signing a new deal at Leicester City and Wenger would be hoping his pursuit of Lacazette doesn’t end the same way as Vardy’s.
However, it is believed Lacazette is open to a move to the Emirates. He recently refused to speak when asked by Journalists about his future.
“I am not speaking,” the French striker said.
Lyon are determined to continuing playing hard ball until the end of the transfer window and have already claimed the striker would miss the rest of August with a minor hip injury, in a bid to discourage interested clubs from making a move for the striker.
