Arsenal and Besiktas are set to hold talks over the future of David Ospina in the next couple of days, according to reports in Turkey.
The Istanbul giants are seriously interested in the Gunners goalie and have already indicated their interest in signing the Colombian international.
The Turkish club initially approached Arsenal over signing the goalkeeper but were put back by the Gunners £3m asking price. With Besiktas now prepared to meet Arsenal demands, they are now set to resume negotiations with the deal set to be completed next week.
According to Takvim via the Daily Star, Besiktas representatives will fly into London in the next couple of days to thrash out a deal for the goalkeeper.
Ospina is said to be keen on a move to Besiktas as he is fed up of sitting on the bench at Arsenal.
Ospina believes the opportunity of playing regular first team football and Champions League football with Besiktas is too good to turn down in favor of sitting on Arsenal’s bench.
The goalkeeper showed his quality in the just concluded Copa America tournament helping the Colombian national team to third place in the competition. He will definitely be missed at Arsenal.
Wenger will now have to search for a back up goalkeeper as Wojciech Szczesny has also revealed he isn’t coming back to the Emirates to play back up to Petr Cech.
