Arsenal striker Lucas Perez could get the chance to return to Deportivo La Coruna this summer, if the first option clause in his contract is true.
The striker has featured sparingly since completing a £17m move to the Emirates last summer and is being linked with a move back to Spain. Reports are claiming he has become disillusioned with his situation, after Wenger failed to give him the chance to impress.
Wenger recently opened up the possibility of a summer exit for Perez but hinted that the club will hold talks with the player in the summer before making a decision.
However reports in Spain are claiming the striker would likely return to Deportivo La Coruna this summer, after the players agent, Rodrigo Fernández Lovelle interview.
Lovelle was speaking in an interview on the striker’s current situation and he revealed that Deportivo have a first option to sign the striker.
Perez is keen on playing regularly in order to make the Spain’s 2018 world club and is open to a move back to Deportivo where he’ll definitely get the chance.
However, his agent admitted a move away from the Emirates won’t be easy but stressed that there is enough time to get a deal done.
“The first option would always be Deportivo, they would be the first club we would talk to,” he said as quoted in Marca . “We have to thank Deportivo for dreaming of having Lucas. Lucas is also thinking and dreaming of Deportivo because he’s a heartfelt sportsman forever.
