Wojciech Szczesny ‘thinks’ he will complete a summer transfer to Juventus, according to Roma defender Juan Jesus.

The Poland international has rebuilt his reputation following two successful seasons on loan from Arsenal in the Italian capital and is reportedly being lined up by the Champions League runners-up as a long-term successor to the legendary Gianluigi Buffon.

Roma signed Alisson from Internacional last summer to provide competition for Szczesny but the Brazilian spent the majority of the season on the bench due to the 27-year-old’s form.

Speaking of his compatriot’s mood, Jesus said: ‘Alisson? He’s fine, unfortunately he’s not played much, only in the Coppa Italia and in the Europa League.

‘But I think he’ll be a starter next season because Szczesny thinks he’s going to Juve.’

Szczesny left Arsenal in the summer of 2015 after Arsene Wenger bought Petr Cech from Chelsea and installed him as his No.1 while he praised the Czech’s deputies David Ospina and Emi Martinez on several occasions this season, claiming both provide world class back-up.

Ospina was picked ahead of Cech for last month’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea but he is widely expected to complete a summer move to Fenerbahce.
