Arsenal are in talks with Fenerbahce over the transfer of Lucas Perez, according to Turkey.
Perez is expected to leave the Emirates this summer and has been linked with a return to his former club Deportivo La Coruna as well as Fenerbahce.
It appears to Turkish giants have now moved ahead as favorites to sign the striker as they hope to finalise negotiations in the coming days.
According to Turkish Football, Arsenal will hold advanced talks with Fenerbahce in the next few days to discuss the sale of Perez.
The Turkish giants want to sign Perez on a loan deal with the option of a permanent move at the end of next season.
Arsenal were believed to be reluctant to a loan deal as they aim to recoup a sizable part of the £19m we spent on the striker last summer but with Fenerbahce the only club pushing to sign him now, we may have been forced to reconsider our stand.
Perez scored seven goals and provided seven assists in just 948 minutes of football for Arsenal last season and it is surprising that there aren’t more clubs chasing the Spaniard.
The option of a permanent move may have softened Arsenal’s mind into considering a loan move which it never wanted to sanction.
The striker was left out of Arsenal’s squad currently in China for the preseason tour.
