Arsenal have been dealt a major blow ahead of this Weekend’s North London derby, via goal.com.
First team duo Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny have been ruled out of the crunch clash with Tottenham on Saturday.
Arsene Wenger revealed that both Cech and Koscielny are struggling with muscle problems.
Koscielny missed the game against Swansea on Wednesday night with a calf injury and Wenger revealed after the game that the centre back won’t recover in time to face Tottenham while Cech suffered an injury in the closing stages of the game against Swansea.
“He [Cech] struggled. He had a little groin problem before the game and he struggled a little bit,” Wenger told reporters after the game.
“He will not play on Saturday. I trust completely Ospina and I have no problem with that.
“It’s a muscle problem, I don’t know how long he will be out. Koscielny is also calf and he will be out too.”
Injury to Cech who has been superb all through this season and Koscielny who has been our best defender so far few weeks before the game against Tottenham comes at a bad timing.
We would be hoping the likes of Ospina and Gabriel put in their best performance on Saturday as we look to get our title race back on track.
