Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista is in line to face Manchester United this weekend, via the club’s official website.

Fresh from a two nill defeat in the hands of Barcelona, Arsenal will travel to Old Trafford with the hope of claiming all three points against the Red Devils as the club tries to focus on the Premier League.

However Wenger has revealed the state of injury in the squad. The French man revealed Gabriel is set to return to the squad after recovering from an harmstring injury he sustained before the game against Leicester City two weeks ago.

The defender just broke into the Gunner’s squad before his injury and impressed in the few games he played and Wenger has revealed the defender could return to the Starting line up on Sunday.

‘He is coming back into the squad tomorrow,’ confirmed Wenger.

‘We will see how he responds to that but the signs are positive.

‘He might be available [to start] on Sunday.’

On the negative side, Wilshere  was expected to return to training this week but Wenger has revealed the midfielder hasn’t returned to full training yet which definitely rules him out of the game at Old Trafford. Oxlade-Chamberlain who suffered an injury against Barcelona on Tuesday night is also ruled out of the game against Manchester United.

There are fears that the midfielder’s Euro 2016 place in the England squad could be in doubt due to the injury but Wenger has revealed he was to undergo a scan on Thursday to ascertain the full extent of the injury.

Other players missing from the Gunners squad that will travel to Old Trafford are Cazorla and Rosicky.
