Arsenal are still interested in Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.
The Gunners had been linked with a move for the French man in the last few weeks with reports in France claiming the club held talks with the player’s representatives and his club.
It is believed a bid of £33m was tabled by Arsenal which was rejected by Lyon. The Gunners has since turned it’s attention to Napoli’s striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Wenger has reportedly made contacts with Higuain’s agent to ask about the possibility of signing the striker.
Higuain’s club, Napoli are adamant that the Argentine would not be sold on a cheap this summer.However, the Gunners will not be held to ransom, according to the Daily Star, Arsenal are prepared to make an improved bid for Alexandre Lacazette should we fail to sign Higuain.
Arsene Wenger wants to sign a striker this summer and Higuain along with Lacazette tops the French man’s wish list. It is believed Wenger wants to sign a striker before the club travels to the United states for its preseason tour.
Arsenal are set to start next season with 21 year old Chuba Akpom as the only fit striker and with Wenger prepared to challenge for the title next season, he wants to start the season in good form and signing a striker will be a good way to start.
