Arsene Wenger certainly mean serious business for next season with reports that Southampton midfield power-house Morgan Schneiderlin is set to join Arsenal in the summer after rejecting a move to Tottenham.
According to the Telegraph, Schneiderlin has turned down a move to the White Hart Lane for the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal already agreed terms with the Saints star.
Fresh reports according to the Metro, claim the 25-year-old star while speaking to French radio station RMC admitted that he is in talks with another club over a summer move.
Schneiderlin also added that he intends to remain in England, but insisted his goal is to play in the Champions League.
“Yes, I think my decision is made.” Schneiderlin said.
“The goal is to stay in England, it is a championship that I like and where I have a lot of fun. “
“If I leave Southampton it is for a club that plays better than the Europa League.”
“The Champions League is my goal. If I leave Southampton it will be for a club in the Champions League.”
Arsenal and Tottenham are the two major clubs in the EPL seriously vying for the signature of the Frenchman, and so going by what Schneiderlin has revealed, it is almost certain that he is on his way to Arsenal.
His statement adds up to what the Telegraph earlier revealed of the midfielder turning down a move to Spurs and agreeing a deal with the Gunners.
