Arsenal could sign Genoa attacking midfielder Diego Laxalt in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Wenger has reportedly been keeping tabs on the attacking midfielder’s performances and few days ago, it was claimed that Arsenal could make a move to sign the Uruguyan in the future.
At first, it was thought that a winter move will not be possible considering how important the player is to his team but a piece on The Metro has now revealed that the player could be sold in the new year.
It is claimed that Genoa are open to the idea of selling the playmaker and would negotiate with interested parties that comes up with a suitable offer.
The report didn’t state at what price the Italian clubs will be willing to sell but I do not expect the midfielder to cost much.
Wenger is reportedly keen on strengthening his attacking midfield position and could be encouraged to make a concrete bid for the player in January.
Should laxalt become Wenger’s main target, we will face competition from Chelsea as Antonio Conte is also a big fan of the young man.
If it does happen that we are successful in signing him, he will compete with Alex Iwobi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a spot in Arsenal’s first team.
