Theo Walcott doesn’t want to leave Arsenal this summer, despite his position in the squad under threat, according to the Daily Star.
Walcott fell out of Wenger’s starting xi towards the end of last season and has already been linked with a £20m move to West Ham this summer.
However, the winger has told his close friends that he is not prepared to leave the Emirates.
The winger face a fight for his place next season as Wenger look to bring in Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez but the England international is keen to stay and fight for his place.
Walcott who is entering into his twelfth year at the Emirates has had a poor couple of seasons but he is confident he can still play a key role for Arsenal despite Wenger eyeing reinforcements in his position.
He will now turn down any approach for his services this summer in order to remain at Arsenal.
Walcott returned to pre-season training with other teammates earlier this week and sources close to the club say he is already looking forward to the new season.
The 28 year old’s problem over they years has been inconsistency in his form. For example, he started last season in superb form, scoring 11 goals before December but became a shadow of himself after the new year.
Should he manage to remain at a top level next season, he will definitely be a match for anybody we are looking to sign.
