Wojciech Szczesny has apparently agreed to join Juventus this summer.

The goalkeeper who spent the last two years on loan at AS Roma was expected to return to the Emirates this summer but that doesn’t look like happening anymore as he is now closing in on a move to Juventus.

The press has been full of reports that the Pole has agreed a deal with Juventus and he is expected to join them for about €14-€15m.

Gianlugi Buffon who the Pole is expected to replace in Turin has now confirmed the move in an interview.

Speaking in an interview during the international break, Buffon said:

“I am ready to retire with Donnarumma here and Szczesny at Juventus. I know I won’t last forever. The group is much more important than any single player.

Juventus have apparently agreed a four year deal with Szczesny which will see the Pole move to Turin this summer.

Many of us never saw this coming but reports in Italy claim Juventus have been working on a deal to sign Szczesny since February last year and their plans were kept under the radar until last week.

It remains to be seen whether the goalkeeper will accept to sit on the bench at Juventus this season until Buffon retires or he’ll be sent out on loan once more.
