Experienced goalkeeper Marco Amelia could join Arsenal this summer from Serie A giants AC Milan.

This report is according to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who claim the former Italy international veteran goalie has been tipped to replace former Arsenal number one shot stopper Wojciech Szczesny who has been shipped out on loan this summer to Serie A side AS Roma.

Amelia, 33, has done little to dampen the speculations of his switch to north London with his statement about signing a confidentiality agreement with Arsenal

‘Arsenal? I signed a confidentiality agreement, so I cannot say anything,’ he revealed.

‘I’m still young for a goalie, I’m 33 years old and who knows in the future.’

With Szczesny shipped out to Roma on loan and Ospina being continuously linked to Everton, it is likely that a move to Arsenal for the World Cup winner will materialize.

Petr Cech is expected to be Arsene Wenger’s first team choice this season, and Amelia would represent a good backup to Cech should Ospina follow Szczesny out the Emirates Stadium door.
