Wenger has admitted that he is open to making new signings in January after seeing his squad decimated by injuries this season
Arsenal have reopened their interest in BorrusiaMonchenglabach Swiss Midfielder Granit Xhaka with view of acquiring his services in the January transfer window.
The Gunners have been linked with him for a long time and have scouted him numerous times, even coming close to adding him to their ranks in the summer, but with an injury to Fancis Coquelin, the Gunners now need to find a replacement and Xhaka is the main target.
Xhaka, 23 whose has a contract with Glabach until 2019 has been watched regularly in the Champions League this season where he has done well as a deep lying play maker and has also drawn the attention of the likes of Bayern Munich.
The Gunners would now have to contend with Bayern Munich who see him as a long term replacement for Xabi Alonso, for his signature.
Arsenal also have Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho and Porto’s Ruben Neves on their list, but none of them has as much experience as Xhaka, with the Midfielder boasting 39 caps for Switzerlandso far, and 137 league appearances in Basel and Monchenglabach
However, an insider claims Arsenal are serious in completing this deal and he would be offered a four-year-contract if he agress to make the switch to Arsenal.
