Arsenal defeated a spirited Crystal Palace side 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Sunday in the Gunners second League game of the season.
Let’s see how each Arsenal player fared.
Had an average game today, could have done better for Joel Ward’s goal, and also had issues with timing his jump for crosses.
The youngster had a good game, he reduced the threat Bolaise posed and coped well with the pace of both Bolaise and Zaha, he also did well on the attack, lifting a cross for Alexis header for the second goal.
Was solid, made sure that the pace of his opponents didn’t affect him, and did well to restrict Crystal palace attack to only 4 shots on target
Another solid display from the Frenchman, he hassled Wickham, for most of the game, pushing the English forward outwide most times, also covered his flank well.
Coped well with both Zaha and Joel Ward, and was very available on the attack.
Had a decent game, distributed passes well and was generally solid, though became reckless as the game wore on. Picked a booking and had to be subbed off to avoid a sending off.
Was available and consistent all through the game, did nothing spectacular, just went about his job.
Hardworking display from the Welshman, he covered practically every blade of grass on the pitch, and filled into various positions seamlessly.
Ozil: 8 (MoTM)
A busy game for the playmaker, he created chance upon chance and grabbed an assist with a cross for Giroud’s goal.
Was a constant threat to the opponents’ backline, aided counter attacks as the only pacy player in attack, and wasted a clear chance to give Arsenal the lead early on.
A decent game for the forward who is perpetually trying to gain the love of the fans, grabbed a fantastic acrobatic finish to help his cause.
Injected much needed extra pace to the attack after he came on.
Brought in to lock up the midfield in the final stages of the game, did his bit
Came on late and didn’t have an impact
