The summer transfer window is still a few weeks away from been officially open. However, this has not stopped clubs and players alike from sounding out their interests ahead of time.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that Arsenal and Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan wants to leave the club this summer.
This report is coming after the club had earlier revealed that the midfielder will not be renewing his contract at the Westfalenstadion.
‘Borussia Dortmund and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will not collaborate any further longer than June 30, 2016,’ a statement released by the club read.
‘Gundogan has decided not to renew his contract, valid until that time with eight-time German champions.’
Zorc further confirmed this statement while speaking to Sky: ‘He would like to move this summer. That’s what he told us.
‘Depending on the value of the offers on the table for us, we will decide accordingly.’
Manchester united are suggested to be in pole position to land the highly talented central midfielder with Louis van Gaal keen on adding the 24-year-old to his ranks next season.
Wenger on the other hand has always been a huge fan of Gundogan, and will be prepared to fight United for his signature in the coming weeks.
