Arsenal are ready to offer Yannick Carrasco an escape route from Atletico Madrid and are set to bid £44million for the winger this summer, according to reports.

Carrasco has endured a tough season under Atletico manager Diego Simeone at the Wanda Metropolitano with just seven starts in the league.

Simeone is open to the idea of selling Carrasco this winter and made the 24-year-old available in the January transfer window.

And Mundo Deportivo report that Arsene Wenger is keen on a deal after being impressed with his displays as a Monaco player at the Emirates Stadium back in 2015.

Carrasco scored his first Champions League goal while at Monaco in a 3-1 win in north Loondon three years ago and left a significant impression on the Arsenal boss.

According to the Spanish outlet, Carrasco has also attracted interest from Italian giants Juventus but Arsenal are willing to bid £44m in the summer as they continue to reinvent their frontline.

The Belgium international’s contract in the Spanish capital is set to expire in 2020 and includes an £88m release clause.

Arsenal are close to signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after agreeing a £55m fee with the Bundesliga club.

The Gunners saw Alexis Sanchez leave for Manchester United last week and could see Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere depart for nothing at the end of the season.
