Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are close to signing Russia striker Aleksandr Kokorin, according to the Metro.
The Metro claims the Gunners have opened talks with Dynamo Moscow over a January move for the 24 year old.
Arsene Wenger is reportedly in search for a striker to provide back up and competition for Olivier Giroud but the French boss recently ruled out a move for a top striker like Karim Benzema as he is comfortable with Olivier Giroud as his first choice striker.
The report claims Arsenal could sign Kokorin for as low as £4.5million. It is believed that the Gunners have also agreed personal terms with the player.
The player’s contract at Dynamo Kiev expires next seaon and the Gunners could get him at the end of the season for free but it is thought that Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window in order to keep up with his rivals in the title race.
The Player was linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer but it seems the Gunners will finally get their man in January.
Kokorin has scored 22 goals in 57 appearances since returning to Dynamo Moscow in 2013.
Olivier Giroud scored a hatrick to seal the Gunners qualification to the UEFA Champions league Knockout stages and the Gunners boss believes the Frenchman is currently one of the best strikers in Europe.
Kokorin will most likely play back up to Olivier Giroud should he move to Arsenal.
The Russian will definitely prove to be a decent option in the Gunners’ squad.
