Its good news for the Arsenal faithful, and it comes on the transfer front as the club have now completed a new signing by wrapping up the deal to bring former Nigerian under 17 World Cup winner Chidiebere Nwakali to the Emirates.
Earlier last week, The Gunners were reported to have closed in on a double deal for the Nigerian youngster and teammate Samuel Chukwueze after Football Insider reported that both deals were ’99 per cent done’.
The deal has now also been confirmed by the brother of the teenage prospect ‘I don’t think there’s anything to fear about the deal not going on as planned,’ Allwell Nwakali told Nigerian website Complete Sports, via the Metro
‘Given the type of visa we applied for, we hope it will be available within the shortest possible time.
‘Don’t forget, there are always ways such transactions that are done, so I assure you we’ll get there. There are no threats whatsoever on Kelechi’s Arsenal move, this I assure you. We’ve no worries at all as everything is moving according to plans.
‘Arsenal are known to have a good programme for young players. They develop young stars and enhance their careers.’
Once granted, he is expected to fly into London to sign youth scholarship deals with a view of signing a professional contract when he turns 18.
Credit must go to Arsene Wenger who has acted fast to beat rivals Manchester City to the signing of Nwakali who was crowned the most valuable Player of the 2015U17 World Cup. The midfielder has had trials with the Citizens who also have the player’s elder brother Chidiebere Nwakali on their books.
His teammate Samuel Chukwueze is also expected to arrive as part of the double deal struck by the Gunners.
