Fenerbahce are set to step up their interest in Lucas Perez in the coming weeks, according to reports.
The Turkish giants are in search of a striker and have identified the Spaniard as their top target.
Perez is expected to leave the Emirates this summer, after an unsuccessful debut season and is being linked with a host of top clubs.
Real Betis, Sevilla and Deportivo La Coruna have all shown interest in Perez but Fenerbahce are set to make a move of their own.
According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik via The Daily Cannon, Fenerbahce will open talks with Arsenal in the coming days to discuss a move for Perez.
The Turkish club administrative manager Hasan Cetinkaya will hold talks with the Gunners over a loan move for the 28 year old.
Arsenal are said to be demanding £13m for Perez – £4m less than what we paid for him last summer but Fenerbahce would find it difficult to pay the reduced fee because of Financial Fair Play rule, so they are hoping they can reach a loan agreement with Arsenal.
Lucas was left out of Arsenal’s preseason squad that traveled to Australia on Sunday and apparently doesn’t have a future at Arsenal anymore.
However, it is unlikely Wenger would want to loan rather than sell him. A loan move will only happen if no other concrete offer comes in for the striker.
