Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Mathieu Debuchy’s loan to Aston Villa is on the cards, with Villa manager Remi Garde confirming that he has been in contact with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The 31-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates due to injuries and loss of form coupled with the fantastic form of Hector Bellerin, limiting him to just seven appearances this season.
Debuchy has been in the news lately with talks of a transfer to gain regular first team football ahead of the Euro 2016 tournament this summer, with his chances of making the France squad looking slim at the moment. Roma and West Brom among clubs reportedly interested in taking him on loan.
Aston Villa are currently facing a relegation battle, and would offer the right back guaranteed regular first team football, and Remi Garde has confirmed that plans have been set in motion for his move.
“I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players and Debuchy was among these players,’ said Garde.
‘It’s too early and it won’t help me or anyone to go forward in this style to make too many more comments.”
