The Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, with every team having the ability to beat one another. It’s because of this that the Premiership relegation odds in the build up to a season are often hard to predict. Cardiff and Huddersfield are the two favourites to be relegated following their dismal starts to the season, but there is still a long way to go.
At the other end of the table, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool have enjoyed sensational starts to the season with them all gaining plaudits from fans and pundits. Liverpool have enjoyed their best start to a season in years, primarily thanks to the work that Jürgen Klopp has done over the last few seasons.
When the German joined the club in October 2015, Liverpool were sitting 10th in the Premier League, having won just four of their opening eleven games. Although Klopp wasn’t playing with ‘his’ players, he managed to lead the squad to the final of both the EFL Cup and Europa League. Although Liverpool lost both games, it gave fans an idea of what to expect under their new manager.
Since his debut season as the Kop boss, Klopp has opted for evolution rather than revolution with his squad building, slowly introducing players into his team rather than building a whole new squad. In the past three years, Klopp has brought players such as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson to the club and has transformed them into one of the fiercest teams in the Premier League.
Although he has failed to win a trophy, you get the feeling it’ll come sooner rather than later.
There’s no doubt that Klopp is one of the most successful managers in the modern game, but he is undoubtedly one of the most eccentric and funniest. The German constantly makes the headlines due to his exciting antics on the touchline and humorous quotes. Throughout his career, Klopp has come up with some weird and wonderful quotes when discussing various topics with the media, but can you figure out which quotes belong to him? Take the quiz to find out.
