Juventus are hoping to sign Wojciech Szczesny for a cut price fee despite Arsenal demanding at least £14m for the goalkeeper.
The Italian giants are looking to sign Szczesny as a replacement for Buffon and they have received encouragement from the goalkeeper’s camp who have made it known to them that the Pole is open to a move to Turin
This encouraged Juventus to step up their interest by tabling a bid worth around £4m for Szczesny a fortnight ago but it was swiftly rejected by Arsenal
Arsenal subsequently place a £14m price tag on the goalkeeper and are prepared to play hardball with the transfer fee despite, the player having just one year left in hs contract.
However, Gazetta Dello Sport via The Daily Cannon claim Juventus are confident of signing the goalkeeper for half of Arsenal’s valuataion.
They are willing to increase their bid to about £7m and are hopeful a deal will be struck with Arsenal.
The goalkeeper spent the last two years on loan with AS Roma and appears settled in the Serie A where he has established himself as one of the finest goalkeepers.
With Jordan Pickford moving to Everton for a whooping £30m last week, one wouldn’t blame Arsenal for trying to get as much as they can from Szczesny’s sale.
However, I think we will be forced to reduce our demand because we can’t risk keeping Woj and then lose him for nothing next summer.
