Arsenal have suffered a huge blow in its pursuit for Belgium international, Jordan Lukaku.

The Belgium defender who is a younger brother to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move to the Emirates in the past and it appears the Gunners would now miss out on his services.

The full back has been linked as a replacement for Kieran Gibbs who is expected to leave the club this summer.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport via the Daily Express, Arsenal are set to lose out on the race to sign the striker as the player is on the verge of joining Lazio.

It is believed the Italian club have had a bid of £2.5m accepted for the services of the 21 year old with the move set to be completed this week.

Lukaku currently plies his trade for Oostende and with his contract at the club set to expire at the end of next season, he is close to securing a move to Italy.

Wenger appears to be very keen on strengthening the left back position and has been linked with the likes of Ben Chilwell, Ricardo Rodriguez and Raphael Guerreiro.

In my opinion, Lukaku is one of the most talented full backs in Belgium and a move to Arsenal may have been too high for him, hence it is a better decision to join Lazio.
