The January transfer window promises to be a very busy one for everyone involved with Arsenal Football club. The needs have been well documented and rumours of possible targets have reached peak broadcast, and it good that when it’s come down to action, the club is already delivering even before the official opening of the winter window.
This is certainly the case as the Arsenal (Ladies) have completed the signing of 29-year old forward, Natalie Pablos Sanchion, from Bristol Academy.
The Spain international becomes the second player in the space of a week to join the club from the Vixens after an impressive season, scoring 9 goals in 19 appearances last term. Having previously worked with Gunners manager, Pedro Losa, at Rayo Vallecano Femenino – the Ladies team of Madrid-based La Liga club Rayo Vallecano, she won’t come as a stranger into the first team set up as attested by the Ladies’ manager.
“Natalia is a player I know very well from our time together at Rayo Vallecano” Losa said.
“She was a natural goalscorer in Spain and she has proven she can score goals in England too with Bristol. She has a great character and will add a lot to our team. I am very pleased she has decided to join us.”
Natalie had been part of Losa’s team who heralded a period of success for the Madrid team between 2008 and 2010, which included the Spanish Cup (2008 and league titles in 2009 and 2010. The reunion of both could only bode well for the Ladies’ team as such good relationships would surely help to kindle more understanding within the club. Natalie will also be in the same team with Jemma Rose again following the 23-year old’s move from Bristol to Arsenal as announced earlier in the week.
The Ladies have just concluded a tour of Japan as off-season engagements are put in place for the new season. Strengthening the squad for the 2015 season is of top most priority at the moment as we look to better the 4th place finish in the Super League last season.
