The good connection between Arsenal and Barcelona never seems to have no bounds, be it in transferring young talented prospects – Hector Bellerin – or established World Class stars – Alexis Sanchez – and even to the Ladies teams, as Barcelona Femeni midfielder Vicky Losada has joined Arsenal Ladies.
The 23-year old Spanish Women International has recently spent a campaign with Western New York Flash but will now join up with the Arsenal Ladies team for the beginning of the 2015 season. She had struck up an understanding with current Arsenal Ladies coach, Pedro Losa and the manager is delighted to have her in his squad.
According to a statement of the Arsenal website, Losa said:
“Vicky is a very exciting player for us. I know her quality well from working with her at New York Flash, where she had one of the best assist records in the league.
“She is creative player, dangerous going forward with lots of energy and commitment. She will be a very valuable addition to the squad. I would like to welcome her to the team on behalf of everyone at the club.”
It’s fair to say that while the men’ team have been dogged in attempting recruitments, the Ladies have gone about the task of adding more force to the team with pinpoint tenacity, recruiting some of the most promising players from within and outside the border. While experienced heads like Jordan Nobbs have extended their ties to the club, Vicky joins fellow 23-year old Jemma Rose as part of the exciting incomers to the squad going into the new season.
She is a box-to-box midfielder who has the experience of being a champions, having won two National titles and two Cups while with the Barcelona women’s team. She is sure to be a vital component of the Arsenal team for the coming campaign, especially as she is already acquainted to the manager from their time before at New York.
