Arsenal have completed the signing of 17 year old goalkeeper Alex Crean, via the Daily Star.
Crean was handed a professional contract to join Arsenal after an impressed trial at the club.
The youngster who has played for Crystal Palace and Celtic in the past will now join the club’s academy.
Arsenal confirmed the signing on its official website during the week and he should immediately be included in the club’s U18 squad.
A statement read: ”Young goalkeeper Alex Crean has joined our Academy as a young professional.
“The 17 year-old stopper came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace, before continuing his development with Celtic.
“Known for his bravery and athleticism, Alex is a Scotland youth international.
“We would like to welcome Alex to the club.”
Crean will be hoping to follow Wojciech Szczesny’s path by progressing from the club’s academy to its first team.
Arsenal have made signing young talented footballers its priority and Alex is a sign that the club is beginning to focus on that.
The young goalkeeper has the necessary conditions to become a great goalie in future because Arsenal is a club that gives youngsters the chance to make an impact in the first team and all that he needs to do is to work hard.
